You can count on two things—
Better weather to come, with skies of blue
.
Dependable
classics to see you through.

That is beautiful (both the truck and the scenery)!

Thanks. It’s embarrassing to post “cell phone” pics when I have some great cameras... but this phone does alright. That FJ40 is bone-stock with 3-on-the-tree, but still a lot of run.
It was awesome to take the route through Zion up via the tunnel, then down the eastern slope all the way to Page. Was a great trip.

I’ve never been that far out west in a car. I’m from STL and run out to Colorado a couple times a year for an adventure but haven’t gone much past the continental divide.
I find the same with photos - my phone is easier than dragging my DSLR out of the bag and it takes pretty decent pics anyway.

I really like the quadrangle from Pueblo south to El Paso, west to Yuma, north to Vegas then Provo and Moab and over to Pueblo. The weather’s (oddly) generally drier and milder west of the Divide and, although the low elevations in the desert are really hot in the summer, the higher elevations (Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Flagstaff, etc) are a delight. I’m spending some time these days around Sierra Vista and Nogales in AZ and it’s really green and gorgeous.

It’s been at the top of my list to go exploring in New Mexico for the last 6 months but haven’t had the chance to take a week and go yet.
I was tossing around a thought of heading there after Christmas (off the last 2 weeks of the year) but am not thinking it’s possible logistically just now.

I need a trip south so bad right now.
